Lavender Brown

Player Info:
Name: Vicky

Character Audition Questions:

Name: Lavender Elizabeth Brown
Age and date of birth: April 11th, 1980
Physical description: Lavender’s face is dominated by her deep hazel eyes and prominent lips. Her hair color changes to fit her mood, but has been a deep auburn color for the past few months, signaling stability, something she’s only recently found. She has never been rail thin, and learned years ago how to accentuate her curves.
Parents’ Allegiance: (DE, OotP, Ministry, etc.): Her father tried to keep as out of it as best he could, as he knew the dangers involved with choosing either side. Luckily her family, pureblooded but not well known due to their low financial standing, were able to squeak by without much effort and personal losses.
Personal Allegiance: (DE, OotP, Ministry, etc.): Lavender has always been, first and foremost, loyal to herself. Where she put her loyalty has tended to sway as she’s grown older. She was a member of Dumbledore’s Army in school and was present at the final battle at Hogwarts, though how much she actually fought is up for speculation. Currently she finds herself dissatisfied with the leadership in the wizarding world in general and has decided she’d rather stay out of politics whenever possible.
How do people perceive this character: Lavender has grown a lot since her years at Hogwarts, where she spent most of her time gossiping and fawning over boys. She’d hope that people now see her as dedicated to her career and a loyal friend, though she fully admits that she can sometimes forget to owl for weeks at a time.
Greatest fear: Finding herself completely alone, by her own doing
Greatest passion: Devoting herself to something, whatever the perimeters
Aspiration: Since becoming the editor-in-chief of the Hogsmeade Herald, she thinks her aspirations have been fulfilled.
Greatest Positive Attribute: Lavender is stubborn, which usually means she gets her way. When she sets her mind to something, she’s very rarely disappointed.
Biggest Fault: She can become very focused on her own pain, to the point of selfishly ignoring anyone else, even those trying to help her.
Happiest Memory: Happy times with the ones she’s loved tend to top her list of memories, but seeing her first article in print is also in the top ten.
Most painful Memory: Lavender has lost people she’s loved to the war and has been scarred in battle; she’s felt pain, betrayal and the agony of heartbreak. She’s not sure if any one thing outweighs the others.
Does your character value the purity of blood: No. She never has. She’s known idiots of all blood types, and she’s never racist against stupidity.
Is your character "pure-blooded," a "half-blood" or "Muggle-born":Pureblooded

Describe the character's personal history (however brief or extensive):

After graduating from Hogwarts, Lavender escaped the war ravaged streets of wizarding London, traveling from place to place before finally settling down in Paris. She found a job at a newspaper, and a home with two others, Cat and Steven. Their relationship was unconventional, a ménage-a-trois, but it worked well for them. She lived in happy bliss with the pair, learning to give and take, finding balance for the first time in years.

A night of working late found her coming home to an empty flat, not a completely uncommon occurrence. When she began hearing reports of a fire at a night club Cat particularly enjoyed, however, she began to worry. Lavender still remembers the smell of the smoldering building as she approached, and the way her world shattered upon learning that everyone within the walls had perished. Distraught, she couldn't bear the thought of staying in Paris, a city that now held too many bittersweet memories, and she returned to the only other home she’d ever known.

Returning to London, she found a small flat that she could afford on the pay she received from writing random articles at The Prophet, not her ideal job but something that would pay her bills. Still recovering from the loss of her lovers, Lavender found herself drawn towards someone new, a classmate from school that had never drawn her eyes before. Justin Finch-Fletchley was nothing like she'd found herself attracted to in the past, but attracted to him she was.

The relationship was rocky, full of countless fights and misunderstandings, but despite their very different personalities they tried to make it work. It was while she was with Justin that she discovered Cat and Steven, determined to have died in a fire, had actually been kidnapped by a radical new pureblood faction called The Liberi and placed in a work camp. Both had perished under the direct watch of a man known only as The Frenchman. This man is still at large and is aware that Lavender knows what happened.

In early October 2009, Justin was offered a job at the South African Ministry of Magic that he couldn’t pass up. It was not easy, and Lavender has only recently begun to feel whole again. This newfound peace had been helped by Percy Weasley and his son, Jackson. After being injured in a fire during the Halloween Massacre in Hogsmeade, Percy took Lavender into his home and helped her recover, both physically and emotionally.

Profession: Editor-in-chief of the Hogsmeade Herald.

Lavender's visual representation is Kat Dennings.
